Starting Up
So, I was doing well with running. Running 5K a couple of times a week. Then about two weeks ago I decided to stop! Why? About three weeks ago, out of the blue, things just seemed harder. Running was awful, it took every bit of energy I had to keep going to get to the 1 mile mark, never mind 3.1 miles! And I was slower. What was going on? So I tried again, same thing, and somewhere in that week I just stopped. Now I'm mad at myself, but not mad enough to get motivated to start running again. I must be crazy! I was doing so well, and then a couple of bad runs and I stop - I guess that is sort of the story of all of my running adventures. Hence why I have never been a runner, long term. BUT NOT THIS TIME! I have a Triathlon to train for. Next week. Monday, May 3rd it is ON LIKE DONKEY KONG, for the next 12 weeks. No turning back now!
Are you pure?
Yesterday I had a running malfunction. After arriving at the park and putting on my ipod I realized that no sound was coming out! NO MUSIC! NO WAY...it seems that without music I can not make my feet move any faster than a 90 year old grandma. So that brings me to the question who are the freakish PURE runners who can just run using there own motivation and no musical guidance? How do you become so zen? and will I ever be able to achieve such a peaceful state of mind? I don't know about anyone else but unless I have a little Eye of the Tiger to boost me half way up a hill I fade into a walking zombie.
Never fear the malfunction was only temporary and today I was shakin my ass all the way to the 3 mile marker:)

It is about to begin
I got an email from Jen asking if I was ready or excited to start our training schedule next week.
Seperetly the three events do not seem so scary...run 3 miles... sure...bike 12... why not...swim 1/2 a mile... OK...together they are sound slightly terrifying!
Anyway I am on my way only 13 weeks to go and I will be a triathonlon machine:)
